This month our Volunteer Spotlight is focused on the Burch family. Melissa and her 9-year-old son, Ben, have been volunteering with B & Dee’s for over two years. Ben is our youngest volunteer. Melissa and Ben frequently volunteer at our monthly Lunch Patrol. Melissa can be seen giving out lunches while Ben assists with cleaning up the area and greeting guests. In the past, they have offered blood pressure screening at our various events, and they marched with us in the 2019 Baltimore Pride Parade. Melissa and Ben are among our most “festive” volunteers. Whether it is Easter, Christmas, or any other holiday, they are dressed to celebrate! Melissa and Ben are also known for their matching Halloween costumes at our annual Trunk-or-Treat Lunch Patrol.
Outside their volunteer work with B & Dee’s, Melissa is a registered nurse, and Ben is a student who enjoys bowling, spending time outdoors, and playing with his buddy Max. He wants to be a paleontologist when he grows up.
Max is one of our four-legged friends who serves as the mascot for B & Dee’s! He can be seen at our Lunch Patrol events showing love to our volunteers and guests!
We are grateful for the love and care that the Burch family brings to the B & Dee’s family. We appreciate and thank you for everything that you do! Together we WILL make a difference!
